Secrets from the Ages

Chapter 16

Who or What is Evolving?

The Player, an infinite and perfect God, can create universes, objects, identities, and other things that he considers, in his opinion, to be imperfect. He can then evolve these things toward perfection within the game, for the DRAMA. Remember, this universe is finite. It has a beginning and an end, it has a definite amount of mass, a definite number of stars and so forth. The Player as God, however, cannot evolve because he is infinite. It would take an infinite amount of time to evolve an infinite thing, but beyond that, the Player himself as God, is perfect. One cannot evolve beyond perfection.

The game is played for the DRAMA of it and for no other reason. As the game evolves and changes, the Player learns within the game to play better and better winning DRAMA, but this is not the process of the Player evolving to a higher level no more than a chess player evolves to a higher level by learning to play chess better. Even a chess master's life is evolved no higher than the next man. A perfect God cannot evolve. The game is not for the purpose of evolving. All games are for the fun of it. The mind can evolve within the constraints of this universe, but that is part of the game and it is for the fun of it. Only the creations of the players evolve. Only things of space, time, energy, and matter can change and evolve. The mind, which is made of very thin matter, can evolve.

The Player, as God, is not made of the things of this universe, but who created this universe does not change. Within the game, the Player's integrity can change and evolve. The Player can become convinced that he is changing, or that he is hurt, or that he is sick, or that he is a victim of some situation, but that is because he identifies himself with his creations. He identifies himself as the body that he walks around in, but when he leaves this universe, he is still himself, and unaffected by the game he played. A similarity might be drawn between two people playing a game of chess. While in the game of chess, they might have all kinds of emotions and excitement, but when they walk away the game has not altered their lives in the slightest. The game has not changed them. However, the Player plus his mind, which is part of this universe and a created thing can change. The player can change in a lifetime or not change depending on the choices that he makes. The thing that carries from lifetime to lifetime is his integrity.

What about the Pieces? As mentioned above, the mind can evolve to a certain extent. The Pieces do have minds and thus they can evolve. The mind being what most people consider the soul or the spirit. If a Piece happened to be involved in one of the religious sects when one evolves to higher and higher levels of heaven, well then, a Piece certainly can evolve in that manner and reach the highest level. That kind of evolution is totally within this universe.

Under certain circumstances a Piece can switch and become a Player. It's rare, but it does happen. How this happens is not a subject of this book. It is very rare. Contact the author if you just have to know. Did evolution happen on Earth? We talked about evolution under the chapter on religion. The fact is, all things in this universe evolved. This is a changing universe. Squirrels did not just spring into being. They evolved like all other animals including the bodies of man. If the entire cycle of evolution did not happen on Earth, then it certainly happened somewhere in this universe.

There may have been points where animals of certain kinds were brought to Earth in space ships of one kind or another. We may not have the full story, but evolution happened and there is no way around that fact. If you still wonder, read the part about evolution under the religious chapter. There is no way around evolution. It's part of the game.

Leaving the universe: There are some interesting points about leaving this universe of DRAMA. In the first Chapter we mentioned that all one had to do was quit creating in this universe and he would be out. It sounds kind of easy, but we waited till now to tell you the rest of it. It was already mentioned that going out the bottom wasn't possible. So in the long run, a loser can't get out of this universe. It's because he can't quit creating. Creating is automatic. In truth, any Player could quit at any time, but evidently that is not the game.

The agreement is that you will not leave this universe until you have won the game. After reading the data from people who have searched through thousands of people's minds we have been able to find only two ways to get out of this universe, number one is that you must win the game and number two is, if you do not win the game, you must stay here until the end (of time), quite a few billions of years from now.

It doesn't matter how many of the false games you succeed at, you must win the true game. You could quit, but you made the agreement as a God and no God would ever break his agreement. So if you want out before the end of time, you must win the game to get out. Well, what is the game? Ah, that's the rub. We don't know. That was part of the agreement, to not know. But one is free to find out, if he can, and we have learned much more about it than we knew before.

We do know a few things about the games. We know that your emotions hold you here in this universe, and probably the main emotion that holds you here is love. We know that all the games create emotions. But the answer is not to quit playing games. The answer is to become master of the games, to triumph over the games, not to give up the games. Thousands of monks and students have studied and spent forty or fifty years and more in monasteries of one kind or another trying to not play games. In some monasteries they were not even allowed to talk, going for dozens of years without saying a word, but one way or another there were always games. There was always some kind of game, learning more quickly than the other monks, becoming head monk, getting a better robe, and a thousand other games.

Many graduated to the next level of the game they were playing but none that we know of ever got out of this universe. The game is to win the game, not to quit playing the game. We do know that winning the game and getting out has to do with total perfection of integrity. That means personal integrity in all things. Do you really want out? Very few really want out at this time. There are those monks and other wise men that really want out, but most of them are just playing the game of trying to get out.

If you or they really want out, you must win the game, you must not give up playing the game. Giving up only indicates you were not able to maintain integrity. Even if you don't want out, the thing to do would be to be so good at playing the game, with such high integrity that when the time comes that you want out, then you just step out. Getting out is evidently part of the game, and you can come back in any time at any point that you want. It's sort of like the mirror maze at Disney Land. You finally figure out how to get out. Then you can always go back and do it again if you want.

How do you learn what the nature of the game is that you must win? You keep playing the varieties of the games better and better until you are perfect or nearly perfect. When you reach that point, you will be so good that there will be no fear and no other negative emotions bugging you. Either you will know what the game is at that time, or that it is the game and that you have won it. So the point is, when you really want to get back to being a God, you have to have mastered this universe.

You master this universe by doing what this universe was set up for and that is to play the game of DRAMA. Monks seek to overcome their emotions by eliminating all games and all sex. But it never works as that isn't part of the game. The game is just to play the game. That's the purpose of this universe. To come here and give up games is not going to make you a master of the game. The same thing applies to sex. You master it, not give it up, since that is a game or part of a game.

Of course, that means with integrity. Definition of Integrity: There may be a question at this point about integrity. Integrity in the dictionary means wholeness and completeness. But what would that encompass? Well, just about everything. At the first level, it would encompass making sure that your education was complete. At the next level you would take complete care of your body. So that would be included in your education. It would include the best knowledge at present in this society for taking care of your body. That would mean showering and grooming properly. It would mean the best knowledge on nutrition, exercise, and health. In short it would mean taking care of your body in the best way possible in this society. That would include brushing your teeth right, and grooming your hair properly.

Personal integrity in taking care of your body would be to do it right in all ways. It would also include the proper way to dress your body in this society. At the next level proper integrity would be taking care of your family, especially your children. Knowing the best kind of care that you can give them and giving it to them. This would mean learning the proper data and not just accepting some modern theory. It would include educating them properly in all things that they need as they grow up. This would include taking care of your home and your possessions.

At the next level for integrity you would play a perfect game in the area of business. You would educate yourself to the fullest extent in your area, and all the details that are your job to handle, you would handle. You would inform yourself on the best ways to treat people and you would maintain total integrity in this area. The next area would be to make sure you do your part concerning your country, whatever that might be. The next area would be to make sure that you do your part concerning mankind, whatever that part might be. The next area of importance would be the environment. You would have to totally maintain your integrity in doing what your part is to help improve the environment. That would include all animal life. Finally you would do your part to inform those who need to know of the proper spiritual data, maybe informing them about this book. When you have all of these things balanced with perfect integrity, with no excuses; when you have finally got your games perfected to the point where you can create more DRAMA by winning than by losing; when you are confident that you haven't left someone behind; and that you have maintained honesty, fairness and good will throughout, well then, you are close to having perfect integrity. I have only lightly touched upon the general idea of integrity here. There are many things that I did not cover, but integrity would certainly include everything mentioned, and then more.

The point is, there is definitely a game of evolving to higher levels, for God's viewpoints (mankind) but God cannot evolve higher. However, very few are evolving. Most do not learn lessons from lifetime to lifetime. People do not evolve to high levels. They evolve outward. That is they are a Catholic one lifetime, and a Prespertarian another lifetime, and a Methodist another lifetime, but that is not an evolution upward. People do not learn lessons that carry from one lifetime to another. They learn lessons in any one lifetime, but the lessons do not carry over into the next lifetime. The thing that determines their status in life is their level of integrity. Their level of integrity is determined by their choices. Their choices are influenced by their Karma and by their integrity, but not totally controlled by it. What you have learned this lifetime, such as mathematics and several extra languages, and lessons about life will not carry into the next life. You will not remember your name or your psychological education, or if you were a mechanic, you will not remember how to fix cars. You may, however, have an aptitude for fixing mechanical things. Integrity on the other hand, carrys from one lifetime to the next, lessons do not. If you can increase your integrity this lifetime, it will carry into the next lifetime and make that lifetime better. Of course, the opposite is also true, if you have decreased your integrity this lifetime, that decrease in integrity will carry over into your next life.

This is a type of evolution as one can evolve his integrity better and better, but that seldom happens. Normally integrity gets better and better for only a little while and then it gets worse and worse for a while. If goes up and down. The inability of mankind to face the truth of his existence here prevents a continual evolution upward of integrity. The mental phenomena of the Invented God prevents this evolution upward. (See Chapter 12, The Greatest Secret) As long as man refuses to confront that he is God, he can also refuse to confront the terrible conditions that exist on earth. That means he can go ahead and play golf or buy that new motor home or boat, and not worry about the thousands of children that are dying each day. In fact, man has it so well justified that the fact that I am writing these lines makes me wrong. After all, everyone knows we can't do anything about it.

Thus evolution of integrity of mankind slowly gets worse. Mankind killed more people in the 20th century than all the centuries before. Things are not getting better. Religion will slowly destroy earth. If we don't do something, mankind will eventually die. It is our job and the purpose of this book to start the evolution in the opposite direct, and that direction is upward. Of course, it's going to take a lot more than this book, but hopefully others are working on the same problem in different ways.
